According to the literature found, Author was born at Cummington, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, November 3, 1794, and died in New York June 12, 1878. Peter Bryant, a physician of considerable literary culture was his father, and Miss Sarah Snell of Mayflower Stock was his mother, being a descendant of John Alden.
